WIGIS - Water Infrastructure GIS
Jordan Valley Water Association in Israel requested a GeoERP system that supports the control and management of all water (irrigation and drinking), sewage and drainage underground infrastructure of over 45,000 Hectares area.
Today this system provides services for users of the biggest water Association in Israel. Sivan Design was responsible for developing and implementing the system and is now responsible for maintenance and support.
Description of the services provided
Project objective is to computerize the water infrastructure owned by the Water Association and provide advance means for management and maintenance of this infrastructure.
The project included many activities and services all of which were provided by Sivan Design:
- Software licenses of servers and desktop’s operation systems, GIS, CAD, imaging etc.
- Upload of infrastructure CAD drawings
- Training and support of relevant personnel
- Maintenance routine and ongoing support
Today water engineers, all trained by Sivan Design staff, are updating the system with new data, both alphanumeric and spatial, and using available data and geographic information for management and maintenance prioritizing. The system was developed and deployed by Sivan Design using the most advanced methodologies and technologies.
WIGIS project is a Geospatial information system, with CAD drawings, raster images, metadata and alphanumeric information. The system brings to the Water Association managers and consultants’ better knowledge and tools for the management of water infrastructure. The system enables engineers to better plan maintenance schedules and expansion. It is a stable while evolving system, with great satisfaction among users. WIGIS architecture is multi tier, with centralized database and ability to work from various sites.
